Obverse

President George Washington features in right-profile relief on the obverse of all 2020 ATB National Park of American Samoa 5 oz Silver Coins. Washington has featured on the US quarter since 1932 and this design is a modernized vision of John Flanagans 1932 portrait of the nations first president.

Reverse

A Samoa flying fox mother is depicted with its young pup on the reverse of 2020 ATB National Park of American Samoa Silver Coins. The imagery represents a species of bat native to the islands of American Samoa, Samoa, and Fiji.

History

The America the Beautiful Series launched from the US Mint in 2010. Scheduled to feature a total of 56 designs, there is one design release for each of the 50 US states, five overseas territories, and the District of Columbia in this collection. 2020 is the final year to feature five full releases as the 2021 release schedule includes only the Alabama coin.
