The third design in the Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coin Series is available with two emus in the design field for the second release in a row. The Perth Mint releases new images on the reverse of this series each year, just as it does with other popular collections like the Australian Kookaburra and Australia Koala. Today, you have the opportunity to get 2020 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.
The emu is the worlds second-largest living bird when judged by height. Its ratite relative, a diverse group of flightless birds, the ostrich is the worlds largest bird. Endemic to Australia, the emu has long, powerful legs capable of propelling it up to speeds of 31 MPH over the course of short distances. The emu can reach heights of 62 in height and appears on the coat of arms for Australia.
On the obverse face of the 2020 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coin, you will find an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The longest-reigning monarch in English history, Elizabeth II is depicted here in right-profile relief in the sixth-generation portrait to feature on Australian coins. The image was created for the Royal Mint of England in 2015 by Jody Clark. Inscriptions include Elizabeth II, Australia, and 1 Dollar. There is also an inscription of JC, the initials of Jody Clark on this side of the coin.
The reverse side of 2020 Australian Emu Silver Coins includes an image of two emus. In this design element, the emus are shown at a watering hole in the Outback with one lying down near the waters edge as the other stands in the background field. Designed by Natasha Muhl, there are inscriptions on this face with the initials NM, the Perth Mints P mint mark, and other markings of Australian Emu and 2020 1 oz 9999 Silver.
The emu is an important icon in the Commonwealth of Australia. Not only does it feature prominently in the mythology of Australian aboriginals, but it also features in the coat of arms for the nation.
These 2020 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coins are available inside of an individual protective plastic capsule. Multiples ship inside of sealed rolls of 20 coins or boxes of 100 coins housed in five separate rolls. All coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
