The Perth Mint is releasing the silver Year of the Mouse coins in four different weights. You can purchase three of these four (1/2 oz, 1 oz, and 1 Kilo) coins individually, but one of the coins in this set cant be purchased separately.

This listing features a 1/2 oz, 1 oz, and 2 oz silver coin all with the same designs. The coins will ship in a display box for easy storing and showcasing. The coins also ship with a Certificate of Authenticity. The coins have values of $.50, $1, and $2 (AUD).

Obverse

The obverse face of each coin features the image of Queen Elizabeth II. Coronated in 1952, Her Majesty has been featured on British, Australian, Canadian, and other commonwealth coinage for decades. The image used on these particular coins was created by Jody Clark. It is the sixth-generation image of Queen Elizabeth II to be used on Australian coinage.

Reverse

On the reverse face of each coin, you will see the Lunar Mouse design that was created by Ing Ing Jong just for these coins. The image is that of mice peeling back a corn husk for a meal.

History

The previous two Lunar Series collections from the Perth Mint started and ended with the same cointhe mouse release. The Lunar Series III collection is brand-new to 2020, and these coins are the first release in the series. This series will run from 2020 to 2031 and feature 12 different coin designs based on the 12-year cycle of the Chinese lunar calendar.
