The Texas Revolution of 1836 brought about the formation of the independent Republic of Texas, a sovereign state that eventually joined the United States of America as the 28th state in the Union. However, had Sam Houston and others shaped the map, two states may have been present in what is now the Great State of Texas. Learn about the Lost States of America in an exciting coin series from the Cook Islands. Provident Metals now offers the 2020 Proof Cook Islands Lost States of America Jacinto 1 oz Silver Coin to you for purchase online.

Obverse
The obverse of 2020 Proof Cook Islands Lost States of America Jacinto Silver Coins features a background field showing Texan soldiers clashing with the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto in April 1836. The lower portion of the field shows a right-profile effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The inscriptions on this side include ELIZABETH II, 1 DOLLAR, COOK ISLANDS, 2020 within the lower field, and LOST STATES OF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM in the upper field.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2020 Proof Lost States of America Jacinto 1 oz Silver Coin is a portrait of Sam Houston. A larger-than-life figure in Texas, Houston led the Texan Army at the Battle of San Jacinto, was elected the 1st President of Texas, earned a second term as the 3rd President of Texas, served as a US Senator from the new State of Texas starting in 1846, and later served as the 7th Governor of Texas. Inscriptions on this side include STATE OF JACINTO, 1860, and SAM HOUSTON.
History
While the Texan victory at the Battle of San Jacinto created the new, independent Republic of Texas that lasted for nearly a decade, it nearly resulted in the State of Jacinto as a well. The state would have covered the lands from the Brazos River to southeastern Texas.
