History

Mexican Libertad Coins in both the gold and silver collections are produced without a face value noted on the coins. However, like the South African Krugerrand Gold Coin, both versions of the Mexican Libertad are considered legal tender and could theoretically be used for commercial transactions. In such a circumstance, the coins value would be determined by Banco de Mexico and the current value of the metal in question, that being gold or silver.
