The Samoa Seahorse Series from the Scottsdale Mint is one of two major collections available for the Independent State of Samoa. Previously occupied by the German Empire and later as a joint colonial administration of Britain and New Zealand, Samoa has been a fully independent state since 1962. Samoan silver coins are available with the Serpent of Milan design and this beautiful Seahorse design. Provident Metals currently has 2020 Samoa Seahorse 1 oz Silver Coins available to you for purchase online.
When you purchase a 2020 Samoa Seahorse 1 oz Silver Coin from Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. This includes the crown-like spike on its head that is known as a coronet. This is a common feature that is distinctive to the species. The design element includes bubbles in the water with stylized waves in the foreground.
The national coat of arms for the Independent State of Samoa is found on the reverse field of 2020 Samoa Seahorse 1 oz Silver Coins. The coat of arms comes with a Christian cross above a shield that features hatched ocean waves and a palm tree in the upper field of the shield. The lower field of the shield comes with the Southern Cross constellation, a feature of the national flag for Samoa. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read 1 Troy Ounce, Samoa 2020, 999 Fine Silver, and 2 Tala. There is a beaded border around the design element on this side of the coin.
Samoa gained its independence from Britain and New Zealand on January 1, 1962. The independent state was later recognized by the United States in 1976 as Western Samoa. In 1997, Western Samoas name was officially changed to the Independent State of Samoa.
