The coat of arms for the nation uses a crowned shield supported by leopards on either side and held up by fern leaves and spears at the bottom. The shield itself has a field of horizontal lines with a single star in the center. The name Somali Republic is engraved above with the face value below, and the date mark as a separate 20 20 on either side of the shield.

Reverse

A new image of the African bush elephant is featured on the reverse of 2020 Somalia Elephant 1/10 oz Gold Coins. In this years design, two adult elephants are depicted from the neck up facing in toward one another in the center of the field. In the background, the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro pierces upward toward the sky. African bush elephants represent one of three living elephant species in the world and are the largest, heaviest land mammals alive today.
