On the obverse side of 2020 Somalia Elephant 1/10 oz Silver Coins, you will find the coat of arms for the Somali Republic. This image features a crowned shield at the center with a single star on its surface backed by horizontal lines. The shield is supported on the sides by leopards with crossed spears and fern leaves below. With a beaded border to the design field, there are inscriptions along the design rocker that read Somali Republic, 2020, and 10 Shillings.

Reverse

The reverse face of the 2020 Somalia Elephant 1/10 oz Silver Coin includes the latest image of the African bush elephant. This years design features two elephants facing inward toward one another at the center of the design. The elephants are mature adults with long ivory tusks and you can see the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distant background. Inscriptions on this face of the coin include African Wildlife, Elephant, and 1/10 oz Ag 999.9.

History

Somalia Elephant Silver Coins debuted for the Horn of Africa nation in 2004. The series initially had only 1 oz silver and 1 Kilo silver coins available for investors. In 2016, the Bavarian State Mint introduced .9999 pure silver content into the series, increasing the content from .999. In 2017, new changes came with the debut of the first-ever fractional-ounce coins in the series as 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz silver coins were introduced alongside 2 oz, 5 oz, and 10 oz silver coins.
