The 2020 Rattus Medal is the first in the series to offer a new visual for Do ggae bi on the obverse as well as a new reverse design.

Obverse

A grinning depiction of Do ggae bi now features on the obverse with the release of the 10 oz Silver 2020 South Korean Zi:Sin Rattus Medals. This image of Do ggae bi is still located on the shield of Chiwoo Cheonwang within the design element but now depicts the hobgoblin-like figure with a smile on his face. Certain elements of its appearance have been enhanced with this latest release, such as larger eyebrows, flared nostrils, and larger, sharper teeth. Inscriptions include Republic of Korea, 10 Clay, KOMSCO, and 2020 Fine Silver 999.

Reverse

Rattus is depicted sitting atop a roof on the reverse field of the 10 oz Silver South Korean Zi:Sin Rattus Medal. She is the queen of an underworld cave located beneath the Chiwoo Empire and uses her powers of foresight to watch for evil and detect the threat of a great war before it starts. Once detected, Rattus will inform Chiwoo Cheonwang of the danger and he will assemble the 12 Guardians to fight back. Inscriptions on this face include only Zi:Sin Rattus.

History

The Zi:Sin Series replaces the animals of the lunar calendar with the 12 Guardians for Korean ancient history. However, each design offers a nod to the animals of the lunar calendar. The Rattus image comes in 2020, the Year of the Rat/Mouse, and Rattus has her hair up in braids atop her head that look like the ears of a rat atop her head.
