The word icon often refers to something worthy of veneration. In Ancient Greek, the word icon stood for an image, often a religious work of art that was characteristic of a famous person or item of importance. Diana is the focus of the first design released in the new Tokelau Icon Series from the Pressburg Mint. Right now, you can purchase 2020 Tokelau Icon 1 oz Silver Coins online from Provident Metals.
Provident Metals is happy to offer the 2020 Tokelau Icon 1 oz Silver Coin to you for purchase with protective plastic capsules from the Pressburg Mint. The series is all-new for 2020 and joins a growing list of Tokelau silver from the Slovakian mint. The coins in this release come with proof-like visuals that include frosted design elements and mirrored background fields.
Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse side of 2020 Tokelau Icon 1 oz Silver Coins. This is the right-profile portrait of the Queen created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. It was used on British coins from 1998 to 2015 and was also widely used on Commonwealth coins from Australia and New Zealand to Niue, Tuvalu, Tokelau, and the Cook Islands. The coins have an ornate border element with the words Tokelau 5 Dollars at the top, 2020 split on either side of the Queens bust, and 1 oz Fine Silver Elizabeth II at the bottom. The top and bottom inscriptions are separated by the Maori symbol known as Koru.
In the reverse design of the 2020 Tokelau Icon Silver Coin is a depiction of the Diana sculpture from Hiram Powers. Depicted here is the head of the sculpture that Powers created in 1853 and it was based on Powers previous America statue. His female personification Diana wears a tiara with stars and a moon. The word ICON is visible over the face of Diana in this design, with IC above ON. The visuals change as you change the angle of viewing, with ICON more visible from some angles and Dianas face more visible from others.
Neoclassical images of Diana are based on the goddess from Roman mythology and the Hellenistic religions. Diana was considered the goddess of the hunt, wild animals, fertility, and the moon.
