Reverse

This imagery depicts a male eagle flying over the nest as a female eagle closely guards a young hatchling within the nest. This design is found only on the American Eagle Gold Coins from the US Mint and was designed in 1986 by Miley Busiek.

Proof American Eagle Gold Coins are struck in low figures each year to attract collectors and come with higher premiums over the spot price of gold when compared to the bullion version of the coin.
