Reverse

On the reverse side of 2020-W Proof American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins is a family of American bald eagles in and around their nest. The bald eagle famously builds the largest tree nests of any bird species and in this one, you will find a female and a young hatchling. A male eagle soars over the nest with a branch in its talons. This design was created exclusively for this series by Miley Busiek in 1986.

History

Though it has not been announced yet for the proof and burnished versions of the coin, the American Eagle Gold and Silver coins will receive new design elements on the reverse field starting in 2021. That new date mark is set to feature fresh designs and security features on the bullion coins, with the proof and burnished versions of each receiving those same new designs later on.
