Obverse

Walking Liberty is found on the obverse of 2020-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. In this design, Liberty walks toward the sun on the horizon with her right hand outstretched toward the bright new day and branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. The American flag is draped over her shoulders as she walks toward a bright new day.

Reverse

The heraldic eagle of the United States is featured on the reverse of 2020-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. This seal is one of the oldest in American coining history. First designed in 1794 by Robert Scot, 1st Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, this modern seal was developed in 1986 for the American Eagle Silver Coins by John Mercanti, 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint.

History

American Eagle Silver Coins have the iconic Walking Liberty image on the obverse. This design was created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916 and originally featured on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar circulating coin until 1947.
