Obverse
Lady Liberty is found on the obverse side of 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins. Her effigy is captured in front-facing relief as she walks away from Washington D.C. with the Capitol Building visible at her feet and rays of sun rising from the horizon behind her. A ring of 50 stars encircles the design element. Inscriptions on this face include Liberty and 2021.
Reverse
A new bald eagle design now graces the reverse of the 2021 American Eagle Gold Type 2 Coins. This creation from Jennie Norris shows off the natural beauty of the American bald eagle as the birds head is set in left-profile relief. History
The Type 2 release comes with two new features for the 2021 American Eagle Gold Coin. The reeded edge on each coin now has a variation element for anti-counterfeiting defense. Saint-Gaudens original design features are now enhanced on the obverse to bring the imagery closer to the original 1907 design.
