This stunning vision of Liberty includes the American flag draped around her figure as she walks toward the sun on the horizon. As she reaches out for the rising sun with her right hand, her left carries the branches of oak and laurel. Inscriptions on this side of the coin read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2021.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins in this 2-Coin Set, you will find both the Type 1 and Type 2 designs from the 35th-anniversary issue. The Type 1 coin features the image of the heraldic eagle as designed in 1986 by John Mercanti. The Type 2 coin comes with the design of a soaring bald eagle created in 2020 by Emily Damstra. Though the arrangement of the inscriptions varies on the two, these markings nonetheless read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.

The new design on the reverse of 2021 Type 2 American Eagle Silver Coins will be the only design available for the series going forward from 2022 onward. The 2021 release was split to celebrate both the 35th anniversary of the series and the transition to the new reverse visual.
