Weinman for the US Mint and was originally used on the US Half Dollar from 1916 to 1947. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2021.

Reverse

For the final time, the heraldic eagle is shown on the reverse face of 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. This image of the heraldic eagle was modernized in 1986 by John Mercanti. The design shows the bald eagle supporting the US national shield with its wings spread wide. The eagle clutches a ribbon with E Pluribus Unum in its beak, with the olive branch of peace and arrows of war in its talons. There are 13 stars arranged in a triangular formation over its head. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include United States of America and 1 oz. Fine Silver One Dollar.

History

These 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins represent some of the last coins from the US Mint with the original reverse design. A new reverse design from Emily Damstra debuts on the 2021 coins released after mid-year.
