Reverse

The reverse field of 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins comes with the image of the heraldic eagle. Modified for this series in 1986 by John Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint, the design shows a powerful eagle with the US national shield on its chest, the olive branch of peace in one talon, and the arrows of war in the other. History

By mid-2021, a new depiction of the American bald eagle will debut on the American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. 2021 will mark both the first major redesign of the series and the first year in which two different design combinations will feature on the coins. The Walking Liberty design will remain on the obverse.
