Obverse

In the obverse design of the 2021 Armenian Noahs Ark Gold Coin, Geiger Edelmetalle features the national coat of arms for the Republic of Armenia. The modern Republic of Armenia has existed only since the fall of the Soviet Union, but Armenian kingdoms have ruled the region the modern nation calls home since before the birth of Christ. The national seal includes a quartered shield with lions in the first and fourth quadrants, and eagles in the second and third quadrants. The shield is supported by Armenias two heraldic beasts: the eagle and the lion. Inscriptions on this face of the coin read Republic of Armenia in Armenian and English, 25000 Dram, 2021, and 1/2 oz Au 999,9.

Reverse

For the reverse design element of the 2021 Armenian Noahs Ark 1/2 oz Gold Coin, you will find the image of Noahs Ark. In the design, Noahs Ark is shown as it glides along the top of the floodwaters. The sun is rising in the background field over the peak of Mount Ararat. In the foreground, a dove flies into the scene with an olive branch in its talons. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include Noahs Ark in both English and Armenian.

History

Armenian Noahs Ark Gold Coins are in the second year of availability in 2021. The new lineup of coins in this collection comes with 1 oz gold, 1/2 oz gold, 1/4 oz gold, and 1 Gram gold options.
