Queen Elizabeth II is found in the obverse design of the 2021 Australian Kookaburra 1/10 oz Gold Coins. This design of the Queen was created in 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint of England. This right-profile bust of the Queen depicts Elizabeth II at the age of 89 as she wears the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head. Inscriptions on this face of the coin read Elizabeth II, Australia, and 15 Dollars.

Reverse

A kookaburra is shown sitting on the perch of a gum tree in the reverse field of 2021 Australian Kookaburra Gold Coins. This years exclusive design showcases the bird sitting on the perch of a gum tree with seed pods from the gum tree visible below the design element. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include Australian Kookaburra, 2021 1/10 oz 9999 Gold, and the P mint mark of the Perth Mint.

History

The Perth Mint launched the Australian Kookaburra Series in 1990. The series offers only a handful of weights in the silver and gold collections. The Australian Kookaburras were the first from the Perth Mint to feature native wildlife, with new designs released on the reverse each side. The mint opened in 1899 and is now a state-owned entity of Western Australia.
