An ox is shown in the reverse field of the 2021 Australian Lunar Ox 1/10 oz Gold Coins. The ox stands amidst bamboo stalks with its powerful frame on full display. The oxs front right leg is slightly lifted off the ground and it displays its sharp, deadly horns. The inscriptions found on this face of the coin include Ox 2021 and the Chinese symbol for the ox.
History
The ox appears second in the cycle of the Zodiac. It is said that the ox arrived second to the meeting with the Jade Emperor because the mouse had hitched a ride, unbeknownst to the ox, so that it could cross a river taking advantage of the oxs size and strength. Just as the two approached the meeting, the mouse jumped off and scurried to arrive first.

The coins arrive either inside of individual acrylic capsules or sealed rolls of 20 gold coins. The Perth Mint will issue the coins until late 2021 when the third designs of the Lunar Series III collection is released.
