For the obverse design element of 2021 Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coins, you will find an image of the Great Pipe Organ. This is a permanent fixture in the Musikverein and is the second such organ installed in the concert hall. The first was built and installed in 1872. The Great Pipe Organ was built and installed in 1907 and recently modernized in 2011. The inscriptions on this face of the gold coin include Republik Osterreich, 1/25 Unze Gold 999.9, 2021, and 4 Euro.
In the reverse design field of the 2021 Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coin is a collection of musical instruments. At the center of the design field is a large cello. There are two violins featured on either side of the cello. In the background, you will find a bassoon, a harp, and a Vienna horn. The inscription on this side of the coin reads Wiener Philharmoniker.
The Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coin is the most recent introduction to the series and was released in 2014 as a 25th-anniversary celebration. Its popularity resulted in the Austrian Mint keeping the 1/25 oz gold coin as an annual release option alongside the existing 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins.
