The design was created by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint of England in 2015 and captures the Queen at the age of 89. Inscriptions on this face of the coin include 25 Pounds, Elizabeth II, and D.G. The White Greyhound is featured leaning back on its hind legs as its front paws rest over the top of the shield of the Tudor Dynasty. History

The White Greyhound comes to the Royal Arms of England through King Henry VII, the first monarch of the Tudor Dynasty. He was the victor in the Wars of the Roses and the son of Edmund Tudor, the half-brother of King Henry VI from the House of Lancaster. Edmund Tudor was the first Earl of Richmond, taking the White Greyhound into his badge as a result.
