Highlights:
The designs from the historic Morgan Dollar and Peace Dollar represent different eras of American coining. George T. Morgan created the Morgan Dollar effigy of Liberty in 1878 and it reflects the popular use of Greco-Roman themed effigies of Liberty wearing a coronet, Phrygian cap, and a laurel wreath. Anthony de Francisci created the Peace Dollar effigy of Liberty in 1921. It reflects a more modern vision of the female allegory and comes with a crown of tall spikes similar to that worn by the Statue of Liberty.
Obverse
On the obverse side of 2021 Proof BVI 100th Anniversary Morgan and Peace Dollar Silver Coins is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This right-profile effigy of Her Majesty is exclusive to the Pobjoy Mint and depicts the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem. History
The Morgan Dollar was issued by the United States Mint annually from 1878 to 1904, and again one final time in 1921. The Peace Dollar was issued from 1921 to 1928, and again in 1934 and 1935.
