The Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin Series was the first other than the South African Krugerrand to offer private investors a 1 oz gold coin option. Introduced in 1979, the series has expanded several times over more than 40 years to offer a total of six different weights in the series as of 2021. The most distinctive option remains the MapleGram, a 25-coin package of 1 Gram gold coins in the series. Provident Metals now has 2021 Canadian 25 Gram Gold MapleGrams available to you for purchase online.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with a presentation card featuring 25 coins!
  • Issued with individual assay cards!
  • First released in 2014!
  • Contains 25 Grams, .8037 Troy oz, of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.

When you purchase a 2021 Canadian 25 Gram Gold MapleGram at Provident Metals, you receive a specimen that includes 25 individual 1 Gram coins from the 2021 release of Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins. Each coin is individually sealed inside of its own presentation card that includes a unique assay for that piece. The 25 cards are joined together as a single piece and shipped in a Royal Canadian Mint shipping sleeve. The coins can easily be divided down as much as 25 individual 1 Gram pieces without unsealing any individual coin. All of the coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from the mint.

Obverse

Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse of 2021 Canadian Gold MapleGrams. This effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is the fourth used on Canadian coins during her reign and was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt. The effigy depicts the Queen without a crown on her head, a first during her record-setting reign. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read Elizabeth II, 50 Cents, and 2021.

Reverse

A sugar maple leaf is found in the reverse design of the coins in the 2021 Canadian 25 Gram Gold MapleGram. The sugar maple leaf has long been a symbol of Canada and its wilderness that dates back to some of the earliest European outposts established within the country. Today, the sugar maple leaf features as the national emblem on the Canadian flag and countless other governmental seals. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include Canada, 9999, and Fine Gold 1 g Or Pur.

History

Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins have undergone many changes in options over the course of 40 years. Originally offered only as a 1 oz gold coin, the series expanded after three years in 1982 with 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz coins added. The 1/2 oz coin was added in 1986, the 1/20 oz coin in 1993, and the 1 gram gold coin in 2014. The latter of which also came with the first-ever Gold MapleGram.
