Obverse

The obverse of the 2021 Solomon Islands Spirit Animals Grizzly Colorized Silver Coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. In this right-profile effigy, Her Majesty is shown with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. This design was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint. Inscriptions on this face include Elizabeth II, Solomon Islands, 2 Dollars, 1 oz AG 999.9, 2021, and the unique serial numbers. The date mark is in the left ear of the bear head, while the serial number from 0000 to 2500 is in the right ear of the bar.

Reverse

On the reverse side of 2021 Solomon Islands Spirit Animals Grizzly Colorized 1 oz Silver Coins is an image of the head of a grizzly bear, the largest North American brown bear. The design on this side features colorization that captures the brown tones of the bears fur. The bear appears to wear a mask around its eyes with highlights of yellow and gold.

History

The Grizzly Bear is the first release in the new Spirit Animals Series. Each coin will be shaped like a different animal and come with presentation packaging. Colorado-based artist Phil Lewis is responsible for the image of the grizzly on the first issue of the series.
