The obverse side of 2021 Cook Islands Bounty 1/4 oz Silver Coins comes with a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. In this effigy of the Queen, Her Majesty is shown wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara on her head. This jewelry piece was originally gifted to her grandmother, Mary of Teck, in 1893 upon her marriage to the future King George V. The design element on this field includes inscriptions of ELIZABETH II, COOK ISLANDS, and 2021.
On the reverse side of 2021 Cook Islands Bounty Silver Coins is a vision of the HMS Bounty. The ship known as the HMS Bounty was most famous for the mutiny that occurred aboard the vessel during its lone voyage as a part of the Royal Navy. The HMS Bounty was a three-masted ship that was refitted by the Royal Navy with four 4-pound canons and ten swivel guns mounted on the decks. The inscriptions on this field of the coin read 25 CENTS, 1/4 OZ FINE SILVER, and .9999.
The HMS Bounty was built in the shipyards of Blaydes Yard, Hull, Yorkshire, England, in 1784. The ship was originally christened as the Bethia and served three years as a merchant vessel for a private company before being sold to the Royal Navy. On its maiden voyage for the Royal Navy to the island of Tahiti, the crew of the Bounty launched a mutiny that resulted in the crew eventually burning and sinking the Bounty off Pitcairn Island.
