The 2021 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin NGC MS70 has been struck in pure silver and helps to celebrate the centennial year of this special coin program. While this coin was issued by the Denver Mint, there is no mint marking on the coin to indicate so. The coin itself has received an MS70 grading from the NGC, meaning it is a perfect specimen that retains its original, full mint luster and bears no flaws. History
When Morgan Silver Dollar Coins were first released in 1878, the Denver Mint was not yet operational. The Denver Mint location opened in 1906, so it was able to manufacture and distribute coins when the program began to be released again in 1921. The Denver Mint helped two other Mint locationsSan Francisco and Philadelphiain producing these exclusive Morgan Silver Dollar coins.
Obverse
The 2021 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin NGC MS70 has the left-facing profile image of Lady Liberty on its obverse. This design was created by George T. Morgan. In the image, Lady Liberty is seen wearing three different important garments on her head and in her hair: a laurel wreath, a coronet crown, and a Phrygian cap. The obverse has the coins release year and 13 stars around its edges.
Reverse
The 2021 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin NGC MS70 reverse design shows the heraldic eagle created by George T. Morgan. This version of the reverse design was inspired by the United States national seal. On this particular coin, the eagle is shown front-facing with outstretched wings. It holds an olive branch for peace and arrows for war in its talons.
