Obverse
Liberty features on the obverse side of 2021-D Morgan Dollar Silver Coins. This design from George T. Morgan shows Liberty in left-profile relief as she wears a Phrygian cap on her head. Her long, curling hair has a coronet crown and laurel wreath at the top. The design field includes 13 stars and has inscriptions of E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY on the coronet, and 2021.
Reverse
The heraldic eagle of the United States of America is featured in the reverse design of the 2021-D Morgan Dollar Coin. The design on this side of the coin features the American bald eagle in front-facing relief with the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons. There is an oak-and-laurel wreath beneath the eagle. Inscriptions on this side of the coin read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR. There is also a D mint mark from the Denver Mint beneath the wreath.
History
The Denver Mint was the only mint to issue the Morgan Dollar Silver Coins in just one year. However, that year featured an astonishing mintage of more than 20 million coins at the Denver Mint alone.
