Edge-lettered serial numbers are laser-etched on each coin, with the 2 oz silver blanks offering a rimless format with a high-relief strike and antique polishes.
Obverse
The obverse of 2021 Jesus Delivered Biblical Series 2 oz Silver Coins comes with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief in a 1985 effigy designed by Raphael Maklouf. The design includes earrings and a necklace as the Queen wears the George IV State Diadem Crown. The inscriptions on this side include QUEEN ELIZABETH II, NIUE, TWO DOLLARS, 2021, and 2 OZ 999 FINE SILVER.
Reverse
On the reverse field of the 2021 Jesus Delivered Biblical Series Silver Coin is a depiction of Pontius Pilate handing Jesus over to the Jewish authorities in Jerusalem. Jesus is shown here wearing the crown of thorns on his head with an angry crowd awaiting below. The lone inscription on this face is JESUS DELIVERED.
History
Gustave Dores illustrations for the Bible included 241 separate wood-engravings. Within the series, 139 of these plates depicted scenes from the Old Testament that included the deuterocanonical books and an additional 81 plates from the New Testament.
