History

The Verdala Palace was built in 1586 and is located in the Buskett Gardens, Siggiewi, Malta. The castle was originally built as a hunting lodge, but was expanded by the Grand Master Jean Parisot de la Valette, the 49^th Grand Master of the Order of Malta. Today, the castle serves as the official summer residence for the President of Malta.
