Obverse
On the obverse side of 2021 (P) O Privy Morgan Dollars is a portrait of Lady Liberty. Designed in 1878 by George T. Morgan, this design shows Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, coronet crown, and a wreath crown. There are 13 stars around the design element with inscriptions of E Pluribus Unum above and 2021 below.
Reverse
The reverse field of the 2021 O Privy Morgan Dollar Silver Coin comes with an image of the heraldic eagle of the United States. The design shows the bald eagle with its head looking to the right toward the olive branch in its talon with the other talon clutching the arrows of war. The eagle is framed by a wreath. The inscriptions on this side include United States of America, In God We Trust, and One Dollar. Above the D and O in dollar is an O privy mark in honor of the New Orleans Mint.
History
1921 was the final year of production for Morgan Dollars, having been reintroduced after the program halted in 1904. Only the Philadelphia Mint and San Francisco Mint struck Morgan Dollars longer than the New Orleans Mint. The former two mints issued Morgans every year from 1878-1904 and in 1921. The New Orleans Mint issued the coins from 1879 to 1904 only.
