Each set comes with coins individually packaged in their own plastic slabs. The coins both have PF70 grades that indicate the coins exhibit full, original mint luster and have no detractions of any kind present. The Early Release label is for coins received by the NGC for grading within 30 days of release by the mint.
Obverse
Walking Liberty features on the obverse side of both coins in the 2021 Reverse Proof American Eagle Silver 2-Coin Designer Sets. The left-profile relief shows Liberty walking toward the sun with her right hand outstretched, her left hand carrying the branches of oak and laurel, and the American flag draped around her shoulders. The coins have the same inscriptions of LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2021. The Type 2 coin has an additional inscription of AW, the original signature mark of Adolph A. Weinman that was added to the American Eagle with the Type 2 release.
Reverse
There are two different designs on the reverse of the coins in the 2021 Reverse Proof American Eagle Silver Designer Sets. The Type 1 coin features John Mercantis design of the heraldic eagle. The Type 2 coin bears the all-new image of the soaring eagle as created by Emily Damstra. Inscriptions on this face of the coins read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR. The Type 1 coin bears a W mint mark from the West Point Mint and the Type 2 coin has an S mint mark from the San Francisco Mint.
History
This two-coin set has coins that are reverse-proof strikes. Coins with this visual finish have mirrored design elements overlaying deeply-mirrored, clear fields.
