The image shows Liberty in left profile walking toward the sun on the horizon with the American flag draped around her figure and branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. The inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2021. The Type 2 coin in the set also has an additional inscription of AW, the signature mark of the Walking Liberty designer, Adolph A. Weinman.

Reverse

For the reverse side of 2021 Reverse Proof American Eagle Silver 2-Coin Designer Sets, you will find the heraldic eagle on the Type 1 coin and the new bald eagle on the Type 2 coin. The heraldic eagle is a front-facing design with the bald eagle supporting the US national shield while clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons. The new design on the Type 2 reverse features a bald eagle in flight with its wings flexed out and its talons clutching an oak branch. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.

History

The new Type 2 design featured in this set comes from Emily Damstra. A member of the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program, Ms. Damstra has previously worked with the US Mint on two designs in the America the Beautiful Series.
