It depicts Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun on the horizon with her right hand extended, her left hand carrying branches of oak and laurel, and the American flag draped around her figure. Inscriptions on this side read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2021.
Reverse
For the reverse design of the 2021-S Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin, the United States Mint features Emily Damstras new depiction of a bald eagle. The soaring bald eagle shown here has its wings flexed behind its figure with an oak branch clutched in its talons. The inscriptions on this field of the coin include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, ONE DOLLAR, and the S mint mark of the San Francisco Mint.
History
The San Francisco Mint first issued the Proof American Eagle Silver Coins when the series began in 1986. After production of the Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins moved on from the San Francisco Mint to the Philadelphia Mint in 1993, it wasnt until 2018 that regular Proof American Eagle production resumed in San Francisco.
