From 1986 to 1992, the San Francisco Mint was home to the production of Proof American Eagle Silver Coins. Reverse

The reverse side of 2021-S Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins comes with a new design of the American bald eagle from Emily Damstra. Created for the 35th anniversary of the series, this new image shows the bald eagle in left-profile relief as it swoops into view with its wings extended behind its figure and an oak branch in its talons. The inscriptions on this side read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, ONE DOLLAR, and the S mint mark of the San Francisco Mint.

History

The new design on the reverse of Type 2 American Eagle Silver Coins comes from Emily Damstra. A veteran of coin programs at the Royal Canadian Mint and the United States Mint, Ms. Damstra is currently a member of the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program.
