Somalias coat of arms is featured in the obverse design element of the 2021 Somalia Elephant 1/10 oz Gold Coin. The coat of arms consists of a crowned shield with a single star at the center of its design and a background field of horizontal lines. The shield is supported on the right and left by leopards, with spears and fern leaves crossing below the design. Inscriptions on this side read Somali Republic, 20 and 21 on either side of the shield, and 100 Shillings below.

Reverse

An African bush elephant is featured in front-facing relief on the reverse field of 2021 Somalia Elephant Gold Coins. This design depicts the African bush elephant as it marches toward the viewer with its ears easily visible, long tusks, and a trunk that reaches down into the bottom border field. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include African Wildlife, Elephant, and 1/10 oz Au 9999.

History

After offering only a 1 oz gold coin for several years, 2016 brought change to the Somalia Elephant Gold Series. The collection now offers fractional-ounce coins in the series that include 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/25 oz, and 1/50 oz gold. The most recent addition was the 1 Gram Gold Coin introduced in 2017.
