Obverse

Somalias coat of arms features in the obverse design of 2021 Somalia Elephant 1/2 oz Gold Coins. The image features a crowned shield that is supported on either side by leopards. The shield itself is crowned with horizontal lines on its field and a single star at the center. Beneath these elements, you will notice crossed spears and fern leaves with a ribbon draped across the spears. There is a beaded border to the design field. Inscriptions on the coin include Somali Republic, 2021, and 500 Shillings.

Reverse

A large adult elephant is showcased on the reverse field of the 2021 Somalia Elephant Gold Coin. This is an all-new design for 2021 coins only and features a large elephant with its head dominating the design element. History

In 2016, the Bavarian State Mint began to expand the options available to investors in the Somalia Elephant Gold Series. After issuing just a 1 oz gold coin for years, the series introduced 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/25 oz, and 1/50 oz coins. One year after the introduction of the fractional-ounce coins, a 1 Gram coin was introduced.
