Obverse

On the obverse side of 2021 Somalia Elephant 1/4 oz Gold Coins is the image of the Somali coat of arms. The national seal includes a crowned shield that is supported on the sides by leopards, each one with its front legs on the seal, and one hind leg up on the seal as well. The crowned shield has a background field of horizontal lines with a star present in the center. The entire design element is surrounded by a beaded border. The inscriptions on these coins include Somali Republic above, 20 and 21 on either side of the shield, and 200 Shillings below.

Reverse

In this design, the elephant is featured walking toward the viewer and dominates the design field. The elephant is right in the immediate foreground with its trunk extended into the inscription rim with long tusks and its ears flapped out.
