Obverse
On the obverse side of Silver 2021 South Korean Tiger Medals is a depiction of a small tiger cub. The young cub is shown lying on the ground in front of a wall of bamboo with a small religious structure in the background. Inscriptions on this field include 1 OZ, KOREAN TIGER 2021, a tiger paw print, and the word GANGNEUNG.
Reverse
The reverse field of the 1 oz Silver South Korean Tiger Medal comes with an image of the Korean Peninsula. The design is an artistic rendering that shows the peninsula with the letters of the Hangul forming the shape of the peninsula. The immediate background field has a tiger-skin texture with the Taeguk on the left and the latent security engraving on the right. The edge of the design field includes tiger stripes, and inscriptions of REPUBLIC OF KOREA and FINE SILVER 999.
History
The South Korean Tiger debuted in 2016, but it wasnt until 2018 that the series gained silver bullion medals. The first option was the 1 oz silver medal, with subsequent years seeing the introduction of 2 oz and 10 oz silver medals in the series.
