Each coin has its own, individual capsule with a black presentation box and a Certificate of Authenticity. The COA features an artistic rendering of the obverse design, while the outer shipper for the black presentation box has an artistic rendering of the new bald eagle design from the reverse.
Obverse
The obverse of 2021-W Proof American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coins showcases Lady Liberty. Designed in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, it features Liberty in front-facing relief with rays of sunshine behind her figure, the U.S. Capitol Building near her feet, and a ring of stars around her figure. Each of these elements has been enhanced to capture the original intent of Saint-Gaudens design. The inscriptions read Liberty, 2021, and the W mint mark of the West Point Mint.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2021-W Proof American Eagle Gold Type 2 Coin is the all-new bald eagle. Designed by Jennie Norris, the image shows a bald eagles head in left-profile relief with its piercing gaze fixed on the viewer. The inscriptions on this face include United States of America, In God We Trust, E Pluribus Unum, and 1/2 oz. Fine Gold – 25 Dollars.
History
The US Mints commitment to coining Type 1 coins in early 2021 and now the Type 2 coins from mid-2021 to the end of the year means that resources and production capacity at the mint have been split across the year. As such, each Proof American Eagle Gold Coin comes with a set mintage limit. Only 2,000 of the 1/2 oz gold coins will be available in this presentation packaging for the Type 2 release.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
