History

During 2021, the Mint released the Proof Silver Eagle in both Type 1 and Type 2 formats. Type 1 coins were struck from January through early June and feature John Mercantis original heraldic eagle on the reverse. In July, the Mint began issuing the new Type 2 coins with Emily Damstras updated bald eagle design.
