Obverse
The obverse of 2021 Proof American Eagle Silver Coins comes with a depiction of Walking Liberty. Originally featured on the US half dollar from 1916 to 1947, this design from Adolph A. Weinman shows Liberty in left-profile relief with her figure draped in the American flag. The inscriptions include Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2021. As a new inclusion on this side, Weinmans original AW signature mark is now found on the Type 2 coins.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2021 Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Type 2 Coin is the new design from Emily Damstra. Chosen from more than 30 possible designs, Damstras image depicts the eagle in flight with a large oak branch in its talons. The inscriptions on this face read United States of America, E Pluribus Unum and 1 oz. Fine Silver – One Dollar.
History
The new Type 2 release not only features new inclusions on the obverse, but it also features a new anti-counterfeiting element. Along the reeded edge of the coins, you will find a variation in the reeded pattern.
