The 2021-W Proof American Eagle Silver Type 1 coin marks the last issue of the American Eagle Silver Coins with the original heraldic eagle. Obverse

Reverse

The reverse side of 2021-W Proof American Eagle Silver Type 1 Coins features the depiction of the heraldic eagle. Designed by John Mercanti in 1986, the image shows the bald eagle in front-facing relief with the US national shield at its front, the arrows of war in one talon, and the olive branch of peace in the other. History

The 2021 Proof American Eagle Silver Coin release included these Type 1 coins through June, with the new reverse design issued starting in July 2021. Going forward, only the Type 2 design element will feature on the coins.
