In 2021, the United States Mint took off in a new direction with its American Eagle Silver Coin. After issuing the coins for 35 years with the same design elements on the obverse and reverse, the US Mint introduced an all-new bald eagle on the reverse of the coins. The new design enters its first full year of production in 2022 and Provident Metals now has special occasion cards for individually packaged 2022 American Eagles. Provident Metals currently offers 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins to you for purchase online in American Flag cards.
When you purchase one of the 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins in this Provident Metals listing, you will receive a coin that is sealed in a special occasion card. These blue presentation cards have an American flag-inspired design with stars and stripes adorning the top of the cards front face. The back face of the card comes with the identifying hallmarks of the coin. These cards make the American Eagle within the perfect gift for veterans, patriots, and Americans from all walks of life.
The obverse of the 2022 American Eagle Silver Coin features the image of Walking Liberty. Designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this effigy shows Libertys full-length figure walking in left-profile relief toward the sun as it rises above a mountain on the horizon. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2022.
On the reverse side of 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins is the new depiction of the bald eagle from Emily Damstra. Introduced in mid-2021, the image shows a bald eagle in flight in slight left-profile relief. The eagle soars through the sky with its wings raised behind its figure as it clutches an oak branch in its talons. The inscriptions on this side include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.
Emily Damstras new design on the reverse of American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins was submitted through the Artistic Infusion Program at the US Mint. Her previous work includes designs for the ATB Series at the United States Mint, as well as the Canadian Wildlife and Birds of Prey Series at the Royal Canadian Mint.
