In 2022, the American Eagle Silver Series marks its first year in which the new bald eagle design from Emily Damstra is the only reverse visual used. In 2021, the US Mint issued two versions of the American Eagle as part of the 35^th anniversary of the series. This included Type 1 coins with the original reverse design and, later, Type 2 coins with this new image of the eagle.

Obverse

On the obverse of 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins is a depiction of Walking Liberty. This visual shows Libertys full-length figure in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun on the horizon. As she approaches the sun while it crests a mountain, Liberty is draped in the American flag, extends her right hand, and carries branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. Inscriptions read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2022.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 2022 American Eagle Silver Coin comes with a vision of the American bald eagle. This design shows the eagle in flight and depicts the bird with its wings flapping as it descends downward clutching an oak branch in its talons. The inscriptions on this side include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.
