In 1986, the United States Mint introduced the American Eagle Silver Coin to eager investors and collectors. The series has, since then, offered 1 oz silver coins in a growing collection. The first coins offered BU and Proof options to buyers. In 2006, the Burnished coin was introduced in the series. One of the more recent options doesnt come directly from the US Mint, but does offer beautiful alternatives to the main coins in the series. Enhanced with a 24-karat gold layer, the 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Gilded Coin is now available to you for purchase online at Provident Metals.
When you purchase one of these 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is in an acrylic capsule and comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. These visually impressive specimens have a gilded finish on the obverse that consists of a thin layer of gold applied over the design of Walking Liberty.
Walking Liberty is on the obverse of the 2022 American Eagle Silver Coin. In this design from Adolph A. Weinman, Liberty is featured in left-profile relief with the American flag draped around her figure. As she walks toward the sun on the horizon, she extends her right hand while carrying branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. Inscriptions on this side include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2022.
For the reverse design of the 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin, the mint features an image of the American bald eagle. This all-new design debuted halfway through 2021 as a replacement for the original reverse design by John Mercanti. This new design shows the eagle in flight as it grips an oak branch in its talons. Inscriptions on this face read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.
The application of the thin layer of 24-karat gold on these unique gilded American Eagles helps create visual contrast. The gold is applied only to the image of Walking Liberty on the obverse. The combination of gold and silver on this field helps the Walking Liberty design pop on the field of the coin.
