In 2022, the US Mint moves on from the heraldic eagle reverse for the American Eagle Silver Coin with its first full-year issue of the coins with the new reverse design from Emily Damstra. After debuting in the second half of 2021 alongside the last issue of the heraldic eagle, 2022 now features only the new bald eagle reverse. Provident Metals currently has 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins available to you online in perfect condition.
When you purchase one of these 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins at Provident Metals, the specimen you receive is in perfect condition. These coins have a Mint State 70 grade, meaning that each one showcases full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws of any kind present on the coins. First Day of Issue coins are those that were received by the PCGS for grading within 24 hours of release from the mint.
The obverse of 2022 American Eagle Silver Coins depicts Liberty. This design from 1916 was created by Adolph A. Weinman and shows Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks along the horizon toward a mountain where the sun is setting. Draped in the American flag, she reaches for the sun with her right hand and carries branches of oak and laurel in her left. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2022, and the AW signature mark of Weinman.
On the reverse side of the 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin is a vision of the American bald eagle. The design shows the bald eagle soaring through the sky with its wings flexed and an oak branch in its talons. Inscriptions on this side read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.
Emily Damstra created the new bald eagle design on the reverse of these coins in 2020. Her design was chosen from more than 30 possible designs to represent this series for the next several decades.
