The coins in the American Eagle Series are offered individually in plastic flips. Multiples arrive in either acrylic tubes of 20 coins sealed by the mint with black tape or Monster Boxes of 500 silver coins. The Monster Box holds a total of 25 tubes of 20 coins each. Please note that the black tape sealing the acrylic tubes can, on occasion, come loose during shipping.
Obverse
The obverse of 2022 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins features a depiction of Walking Liberty. This vision of Liberty is set in left-profile relief and shows her extending her right hand as her left hand carries branches of oak and laurel. The American flag is draped around her figure as she strides toward the sun on the horizon. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2022.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2022 American Silver Silver Coin is the design of the American bald eagle in flight. This image was created in 2020 by Emily Damstra and shows the eagle as it drops down into view with its wings lifted back behind its frame. The bird is clutching a large oak branch in its talons as a symbol of strength. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.
History
American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins received a new reverse design in 2021. The debut of the new image came in July, making the 2022 release the first full-year issue with the new design element of a soaring bald eagle.
