History

Five years in the making, the 1565 Siege of Malta occurred between the offensive Ottoman Empire and the defending Knights Hospitaller. After plenty of back-and-forths, the Knights Hospitaller successfully staved off the attack, dealing an enormous blow to Ottoman resolve. The siege is considered the culmination of the Christian-Ottoman conflict in the Mediterranean during the 16^th century.
