The effigy shown here comes from Ian Rank-Broadley and was created for the Royal Mint of England in 1998. It shows the Queen in right-profile relief with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The inscriptions on this side include QUEEN ELIZABETH II, 1 OZ 9999 AG, 2022, TUVALU, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2022 Antique Tuvalu Gods of Olympus Hera Silver Coin comes with a depiction of Hera. She is shown seated in slight-right-profile relief with a lotus staff in one hand and her right hand resting on the head of a lion at her right. To her left, there is a peacock standing next to her throne. The inscriptions here read HERA and the P mint mark of Perth Mint.
History
The new Gods of Olympus Series launched in 2020 with the effigy of Zeus, the ruler of Mount Olympus. Mount Olympus is the home of the gods in Greek mythology and Hera, the wife of Zeus, is the Queen of Olympus. She is associated with both women in marriages and fertility. The new Gods of Olympus Series offers each design in five options: 1 oz Silver BU, 1 oz Gold BU, 1 oz Silver Antique, 5 oz Silver BU, and 5 oz Silver Antique. Both 5 oz silver coins and the 1 oz gold coin come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
